Match the seal to the surface
Smooth tile and glass hold suction easily. Rough or porous pavers need a foam seal and a lifter with more airflow.
Stay inside the rated load
Every lifter and plate has a weight rating. Check it before every lift, and use two lifters or two people for long slabs.
Lift low and slow
Keep loads close to your body and low to the ground. Set them down gently.
